About the Rippers
AMI rippers are single-tooth attachments for breaking up ground too hard to dig. The Frost Ripper is made for the initial breakup of dense, hard-packed material including frozen ground, so the machine can keep working through winter and cold conditions. The tooth is formed from solid Hardox HiTuf steel and the tip is replaceable, so wear parts can be swapped in the field.
The Rock Ripper cuts through rock material and hard terrain on larger machines. Both are simple single-tooth tools: point them down, rip, then switch back to the bucket. The Frost Ripper fits compact excavators from 1,000 to 24,000 lbs, and the Rock Ripper spans 24,000 to 160,000-lb excavators with penetration depths from 24 to 65 inches.
Tip replacement on the Frost Ripper keeps the machine in the field longer rather than waiting on a full tooth rebuild.
