About the Tiltrotators and Tilt Couplers
The AMI AXXIS Tiltrotator mounts between the excavator stick and the attachment and adds two movements: continuous 360 degree rotation and tilt of up to 50 degrees in each direction. That lets the operator dig, shape and grade at angles without repositioning the machine as often. The tiltrotator is built with a pin grab, wedge or S-Lock coupler on the bottom. On top it mounts direct to the stick, or sandwich style on a standard hydraulic coupler so the tiltrotator can be taken off when it is not needed.
Tilt comes from a fully enclosed helical actuator instead of exposed tilt cylinders, so there are no tilt cylinders to damage and the unit stays narrow for digging trenches. Splined shafts inside the actuator hold torque at any angle in the tilt range. The housing is cast iron with integrated hydraulic lines and only 2 grease points. Control is through the NOXPROP+ proportional system with a touch display and two SVAB L8 ergonomic joysticks. The unit is GPS compatible, and a hydraulic gripper and OilQuick coupling are available as options.
The AXXIS PowerTilt couplers add tilt to a standard quick coupler, without rotation. The PowerTilt Hydraulic Pin Grab Coupler tilts up to 180 degrees and keeps the five integrated safety features of the AMI hydraulic pin grab coupler. The PowerTilt Hydraulic Wedge Coupler also tilts 180 degrees and is suited to sloped trenching, digging around foundations and sidewalks, and ditch cleaning. PowerTilt bearing surfaces are hardened steel on hardened steel, and the hydraulic lines are routed inside the coupler.
